GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
CANHAVE CHILDREN'S CENTRE INC. operates in Canada and Uganda. CANHAVE CHILDREN'S CENTRE is a registered not-for-profit organization in both countries. The primary responsibility of the CANHAVE Board in Canada is to promote, reinforce and support, financially, administratively and through stewardship, the work of the Ugandan Board. The major responsibility of the Ugandan Board is to propose plans for the development of CANHAVE and to implement those decisions approved for action in a timely, effective and financially responsible and accountable manner.
PROGRAMS
CANHAVE CHILDREN'S CENTRE has two inter-related programs:
The Children's program
In 2009, the education and care of 60 HIV/AIDS-affected orphans with an increase in numbers by 10 each year until there are 100 CANHAVE children in 2013.
Trade SchoolThe development and management of CANHAVE Trade School in Kisubi, Wakiso District, Uganda, with a view to making its operation increasingly sustainable over the long-term, and, at the same time, to provide post-secondary education to CANHAVE children interested in its course offerings. This programe was initiated through the request of the original CANHAVE children who, as school leavers, could not find work without post-secondary training.
